NEWS: JOINABLE Project Presented at the Event in Rijeka, Croatia

During the event held on 4 February 2026 in the Industrial Zone Bakar, the JOINABLE project was presented to participants, mostly SMEs,  as part of the programme’s broader exchange of information and networking activities.

The presentation provided an overview of the project’s objectives, with a focus on supporting the transition towards a blue circular economy in the Adriatic–Ionian region through improved management of plastic waste. Participants were introduced to the project’s approach, which combines strategic planning, stakeholder cooperation and knowledge exchange to address environmental challenges related to marine litter and plastic pollution.

Special attention was given to the role of transnational cooperation in developing joint solutions and policy-oriented recommendations, as well as to the importance of involving public authorities, businesses and other relevant stakeholders in the implementation of circular economy principles.

The event also served as an opportunity to increase the visibility of the JOINABLE project, enabling direct communication with participants from different professional backgrounds and raising awareness of its activities and expected outcomes. Informational materials and visual elements related to the project were displayed throughout the venue, contributing to the dissemination of key project messages.

By presenting JOINABLE in this setting, the project team strengthened outreach efforts and supported dialogue on sustainable approaches to plastic waste management and circular economy development at regional and transnational levels.
