NEWS: JOINABLE at Ecomondo 2025 – Mediterranean Synergies for a Blue and Circular Transition

At the 28th edition of Ecomondo 2025 in Rimini, Venice Lagoon Plastic Free (VLPF) showcased its growing role in Mediterranean cooperation for the EU Mission “Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030”, highlighting strong links between INTERREG programs and Mission Ocean lighthouse projects.
VLPF took part in three key events where the JOINABLE project played a central role in demonstrating how transnational solutions can enable a blue, circular and data-driven economy.

Strengthening Mission Ocean Through INTERREG & JOINABLE

On November 5, at the roundtable “Impacting Together… Promoting Cross-Fertilisation between Interreg and the Mission Ocean and Waters”, VLPF presented how local actions from Venice scale to the Mediterranean through:

  • INTERREG IPA ADRION JOINABLE, focused on blue and circular economy solutions from marine and freshwater waste
  • Mission Ocean lighthouse projects SeaClear2.0 and REMEDIES

The European Commission officially recognised VLPF’s contribution to Mission Ocean targets, awarding a token of appreciation made from recycled fiberglas.

JOINABLE at the Center of Blue and Circular Economy Dialogue

On November 6, during the roundtable “IPA ADRION Blue: Accelerating the Ecological and Circular Transition in the Blue Economy”, VLPF focused on JOINABLE’s contribution to transnational cooperation:

  • Turning abandoned macroplastics into resources through circular processes
  • Developing digital monitoring tools
  • Enabling citizen-science campaigns across Mediterranean territories
  • Building synergies with Mission Ocean lighthouse projects (SeaClear2.0, REMEDIES)

This positioned JOINABLE as a strategic project connecting scientific data, innovation, and local communities.
